Aromatherapy oils are also known as carrier oils because of their property to carry the benefits of essential oils. These essential oils are fragrant and highly potent in their undiluted state, if essential oils are applied directly to the body it may cause skin irritation, rashes or other allergic reactions, hence it is important to mix them with aromatherapy oils or carrier oils. Aromatherapy utilizes a mix of essential oils and carrier oils to help transfer the benefits to the body through the skin. As these oils are applied to the body, carrier oils are important as they reduce the concentration of essential oils making them fit to be applied on the body.
