When organising your wedding you can feel a bit confused because of the stress involved with the amount of things you have to do to make sure you successfully secure your wedding. In addition, it’s not always easy to do everything by yourself but it’s also very expensive to have a wedding planner organising the whole event for you. I had my wedding last month and I’m happy to share some tips with you to make sure that yours will be as successful as mine.

1. Tips for Planning your Wedding

The first thing you should do is to choose whether you want to have a church wedding, or if you want to do where the reception will take place. Then make sure that you buy a folder or diary that is just for your wedding-planning. In there, you need to write down everything, from the theme you want, your wedding dress, the kind of menu you’d like etc. Actually you ought to write down every single detail about the wedding.

Then once you’ve written all the things you want to have in your wedding you need to know whether your budget will be enough for you to have all those things. Actually, I think that the first thing you should do is to set a budget for the reception and then try not go beyond that. Then you can write down whatever tasks to be done before, during and after the wedding. Try to detail these as thoroughly as possible; that way you’ll be able to see if there’s something that needs to be changed. In addition, if you have people to help you, make sure you assign them tasks as well and as early as possible and let them know what you expect from them.

2. Use the Internet to Find New Ideas

You can use social platforms such as Pinterest to look for wedding ideas and once you have your theme, you can also pin images of them to see whether they are liked by your followers or not. In addition, if you can’t choose between different colours you can also ask for your friends’ point of view and you can decide considering their opinion. You can also use the Internet to look at weddings that have already taken place to help you plan yours, so take your time browsing online.

3. Me and You

If you want a unique wedding reception with themes that you choose yourself then you can take some time with your partner to make a list of all the themes that you both like. If you have the same taste, it will be easier as you won’t need to fight over this, though this is often not the case. Indeed if you have different ideas, then you can compromise and think about themes that you both like. Some couples prefer to ask a wedding planner to take care of all the preparation and get rid of the stress, but the problem with this is that they are not always happy with the results in the end.

4. The Location of the Wedding

I’ve always dreamt of a wedding reception by the sea, so with my partner we knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding as far as the theme was concerned. In addition, as I live in Brighton I decided to look for Brighton boutique hotel special offers by the sea to have my wedding venue there and it was the best decision I ever made. So if there’s any advice I can give you, it’s probably to ensure you plan everything in advance because the more time you take to plan the better your day will be.
