Two years ago my wife and I were struggling to find a house to purchase in our hometown of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The market is extremely overpriced because of the city. It’s a small population but might be one of the most beautiful in the country. It’s located right on the water and has many great outdoors activities to take part in. The year round climate and weather is also the best in the country. This makes it a very desirable place to live. And thus the reasons it’s so damn expensive to buy here.

Since 2002 the real estate market has skyrocketed. Many homes have double and even tripled in value in that time. This is where I wish I got into the market at that time. That or I was born about 10 years earlier.

We all know that time travel doesn’t exists so we had to get into the market. We found a small older house located a few minutes outside of town. It wasn’t great but it was good enough. It was going to need some work done to it. Most importantly, according to my wife, was the interior paint colors. I didn’t think they were that bad but she couldn’t stand them. You know what they say, happy wife, happy life!

It Pays To Hire A Professional Painter

Because we had gone over our budget we had to cut down on renovation costs. You know what that means? My wife and I turned into do it yourselfers. I hate this stuff and would rather hire professional painters Victoria BC. But she persisted and in the end, she wished she hadn’t.

Here are three reasons why it pays to hire a professional painter.

Saves Times

Sure you can do it yourself but a professional painter can paint a house about 70% faster then you can. From the prep work to the actual painting, they’ll be done so fast.

Less Hassle

When you paint a home on your own, it’s going to be hassle. Because you are slow, it’s going to take you more time and that more time means the more hassle. For me, my man cave took two weeks to complete. That frustrated me as football season had started and I missed the a few big games.

Equipment

We didn’t have a lot of equipment to paint with. Scratch that, we had no equipment. So we went out and bought a bunch, which in the end cost us far more than we had budgeted. A house painter Victoria already has the necessary equipment.

By the time it was all said and done, we might have saved $600. But the job was not that great and something that could affect the value of our home down the road.

In the end, it would have paid to hire a professional painter.
