Sleep deprivation or not getting enough sleep will make you feel miserable and look miserable. Here’s another fact: people who get enough sleep wake up happier in the morning. They are less grumpy simply because they are well rested.
Here are some suggestions on how to ensure that you get enough sleep and not feel grumpy and tired during daytime. When we say enough sleep, for adults this means at least 7 hours of sleep every night. So if you want a good night’s rest, avoid taking any drinks with caffeine at least 2 to 3 hours before your bedtime. Also, avoid heavy meals at dinner time. Then, do not lie down in bed with the TV on; better yet, do not put your TV in your bedroom. Another thing that can help is to turn down your light to a dim or turn it off completely. Take also a shower or a bath before going to bed. Sleep experts are saying that the body needs to be prepped for sleep and having a nightly routine before bedtime can really help a lot in conditioning the body to slow down.
This is a given: people who don’t exercise are always tired; and the best way to turn it around is to do regular exercise. Some people may react and say “huh?”! Well this is correct; according to health experts who are saying that exercise jumpstarts energy and triggers the body into action. So how much exercise is needed so that a person will feel less tired? Health experts suggest exercising for 40 minutes at least 4 days a week.
