For 2013, the company has One Touch Ultra as its latest model. Specifically, it was announced in January and was released April. With this model, the company hopes to gain an even bigger share in the market in terms of sales. If you are planning to buy a new unit, you might want to consider this phone. Dimensions and Display

The dimensions of the phone are 134.4 x 68.5 x 6.5 mm or 5.29 x 2.70 x 0.26 in. With these numbers, the phone surely looks very sleek and elegant. It is thinner than any other recently released smartphones like the Sony Xperia Z and Nokia Lumia 928. The weight is also very light at 115 g or 4.06 oz. With its great look and light weight, it would surely become a favorite for many smartphone users this year.

For the display, the type is AMOLED capacitive touchscreen in 16M colors. The size is 4.65 inches with 720 x 1280 pixels and 316 PPI pixel density. The screen size and PPI are slightly smaller compared Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4. Even so, the phone is expected to deliver crisper and more visually appealing images than the previous models. It seems that the One Touch Ultra cannot compete well with Galaxy S4 or Xperia Z in terms of which phone has the fastest processor. But then again, unlike the brand’s previous models the current one surely has faster processing speed.

For the features, it has compass, proximity and accelerometer. For messaging, it is capable of email, push email, IM, SMS in threaded views and MMS. It has stereo FM radio with RDS. Moreover, it has A-GPS emulator for GPS and Java MIDP emulator for Java. Consumers can choose from different colors like black, red, yellow, green and turquoise.


For both 2G and 3G, the standby time of the phone is up to 400 hours. The talk time is up to 12 hours for 2G and up to 7 hours for 3G. If you don’t use smartphones for long calls every day, the phone can last for a whole day. Its battery life is long enough for users to enjoy performing other functions such as watching videos, listening to music, accessing apps and playing video games.

Having said all these, the Alcatel One Touch Ultra is definitely the best model the company has thus far. Compared to the older models, it surely has a better look and capabilities. However, if compared to Nokia Lumia 928, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Sony Xperia Z, it might rank last in terms of processing speed and battery life.
