As a student, you have a lot on your plate. In order to balance it all, you need to make use of all the resources at your disposal. Fortunately for you, your best resource is, literally, right at your fingertips. Your smart phone can be loaded with great apps that you can use to track schedules, projects, and deadlines. Check these out:

Study Buddy. If you could benefit from a taskmaster when it comes to making the best use of your time (and which students wouldn’t?), then you should be using this app to track your productivity when it comes to keeping up with your schedule and getting your projects done by their due date. Study Buddy works by monitoring the time you spend away from your schoolwork tasks and then providing you with a report of how productive (as opposed to distracted) you were.

StudentLife. This app is calendar-based and super easy to use. What’s more is it’s free! Simply plug in your class schedule, input data about your homework assignments and projects, and StudentLife will help keep you on task by keeping track of everything from schoolwork to social gatherings and extracurricular activities.

My Class Schedule. This free app does exactly what the name suggests: It keeps track of your class schedule (which, as you well know, changes every semester . . . which can be very tedious if you’re not organized). Simply input information for your courses (as many courses as you want), and then access everything from your daily schedule to your upcoming homework assignments to your grades (which you log from the interface) from a timetable that may be adjusted to show the day, week, or month you are interested in viewing.

School Helper. Need a one-stop solution for organizing everything that goes into keeping up with your class schedule? If so, then School Helper is the app for you. Everything from lecture notes to class syllabi can be organized and accessed from the home screen, which also functions as a schedule tracker. You can even put in a reminder before your next New York Chemistry tutoring appointment or meeting with your professor.

iStudiezPro. Not only does this app keep track of your class schedule, but it also counts down the days until your projects reach their deadline, and alerts you of when you need to work on them. Simply input all pertinent information into the day planner-like interface and iStudiezPro will do the rest of the work for you (except for your homework, of course).

Your smart phone may just be your magic bullet when it comes to keeping up in school. Each of these apps offer some unique features, so try them all out to find those that work best for you.
