Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it is important to eat a healthy meal in the morning in order to start your day off right. Many people eat convenience foods because they always find themselves in a hurry in the mornings, but there are plenty of healthy options that don’t take long to fix.

Eat Breakfast At Home

The best way to eat a healthy breakfast is to eat it at home. Breakfast options at fast food restaurants are full of fat and calories, and even the so-called healthy options are usually much more fattening than nearly anything that you could prepare at home. Donuts and muffins that are available at doughnut and coffee shops are equally as bad. If you count in the time that it takes to order, pay and wait for your food, you can typically prepare a healthy breakfast much more quickly than you can order breakfast from a restaurant, and you will save a few bucks as well.

Drinks Have Calories

TooMany people quickly consume calories in their drinks alongside their breakfast, and this can really help to pack on the pounds. Fruit juice is good for you, but it is also high in calories, so it’s best to only drink a small glass of fruit juice with your breakfast — if you are still thirsty, sip on water along with your juice to save calories. Coffee is a fine choice for those who are on a diet, but use a low-calorie sweetener instead of sugar and skip the creamer to keep it diet-friendly.

Grab Something Healthy When You’re On The Go

If you are looking for a breakfast that is quicker, healthier and cheaper than grabbing a biscuit from a fast food restaurant, never underestimate the power of a banana, a cup of yogurt and a slice of whole-wheat toast spread with the jelly of your choice. You can try different types of yogurt or fruit and you can switch up the jelly for a little variety to make this the perfect breakfast for a busy yet health-conscious person on the go.

Try Eggs

One great and filling breakfast option is a couple of eggs. Choosing egg whites instead of the whole egg can cut down on fat, and you can even purchase liquid egg whites for convenience. It only takes a couple of minutes to cook your eggs, and you can even do it in the microwave. Avoid cooking your eggs with butter; instead, cook them on a non-stick pan or use cooking spray.

Dress Up Your Cereal

Avoid purchasing sugary and calorie-laden cereal, and instead opt for cereal that is made of 100 percent whole grains. Enjoy your cereal with low fat or skim milk, and add granola or sliced bananas, strawberries or other fruit to kick up the flavor and to make your breakfast even more healthy.
