Dieting is tricky business and most of us have been failing at it for a very long time. It’s not for lack of trying, however. Many of our friends and family are probably on a diet right now.

If you’re tired of dieting than you’re in good company because dieting isn’t the way that we should be trying to lose fat. What we should be focusing on is learning to enjoy foods that burn belly fat naturally. I’m going to share with you my list of fat burning foods so that you too can have a flat stomach without love handles.

The Most Important Fat Burning Foods

The most important change to your diet that you can make to start losing weight is to eat more protein. That doesn’t mean that you should stop eating carbohydrates though.

Many people jump to that conclusion and it’s just plain wrong. What you should do is decrease the number of carbs that you are eating while increasing your consumptions of protein rich foods. Here are my top 10 favorite sources of protein:

  • Chicken
  • Tuna
  • Ground beef
  • Top sirloin
  • Salmon
  • Tilapia
  • Turkey
  • Shrimp
  • Halibut
  • Ham

What Vegetables Help You To Lose Weight

Most people that are dieting either don’t eat enough vegetable or they are eating so many vegetables a day that they start to hate them. This is usually the salad with grilled chicken crowd that thinks a good diet is one that is very low calorie so they eat salad twice a day.

Vegetable are great for weight loss because they fill you up and keep you from getting hungry. The fiber in them slows down digestion. Some of my favorite fat burning veggies are:

  • Broccoli
  • Spinach
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Beets
  • Celery
  • Bell peppers

By keeping a watchful eye on your vegetable you’ll be sure to lose weight even faster. Divide your meals up into three portions on your plate. Each portion should be about equal size: 1 part protein, 1 part carbohydrate, 1 part vegetable.

Fruits That Burn Fat

Fruit gets a bad rap because most people have been led to believe that the sugar in them is bad for you. Unless you are eating massive amounts of fruit the sugar in it won’t make you fat.

There are certain fruits that are higher in fiber and help us to shed pounds better than others. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Peaches
  • Bananas
  • Plums
  • Apricots
  • Figs
